Spornado Sampler

Spornado Sampler is an effective, low-cost tool for growers to better predict crop disease, and take preventative action. It is an innovative, easy-to-use early crop disease alert system that identifies crop disease in the air—long before it’s seen on the crops. Initially approached by an agricultural firm to develop a simple air sampler farmers could use, this small project emerged into a revolutionary agricultural solution. Working cross-functionally with growers, engineers, plant pathologists and microbiologists, the Spornado Sampler went through extensive testing, analysis, and adjustment to optimize its efficacy and durability in the field. It is the first of its kind spore sampler, coupled with highly sensitive DNA analysis, commercially available to growers.
